Tanzania Admits Al-Shabaab Terrorists Attacking its Citizens and Police

Tanzania has admitted to facing terror attacks targeting its citizens and security officers and their resources.

Through his address, President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania warned of the threat posed by the Somali terror group.

Kikwete admitted that Al-Shabaab terrorists killed security officers in Tanzania besides stole firearms and also burned down the police stations.

Al-Shabaab terrorists in Tanzania have stole a total of 41 firearms. Tanzania police have recovered 32 of these weapons.

Dar will have to establish a counter-terrorism intelligence unit to track and destroy terror cells in the country.

Tanga Al-Shabaab terror cells and bases have been most active.

The Al-Shabaab terrorists in Arusha have also proved to be a serious threat to the east African country.
