Indian Intelligence Bureau officials have confirmed the killing of Aby Abdullah Al hindi alias Sultan Armar in a battle at Kobane in Syria.
The highly wanted man who was heading the Ansar-ul- Tawhid, a group loyal to the ISIS was a police key suspect in the investigations of Indians who had joined the militia group.
Amar had formed an Indian recruiting agency for the ISIS, Ansar-ul-Tawhid, and was being tracked by the Bengaluru Police after the police received information that several youth were planning an attack in India.
The police however later learned that the man had moved to Syria where he had successfully joined the Hind camp of ISIS. While at the camp, police confirm that he had been actively recruiting several Indians into the ISIS.
Intelligence Bureau have confirmed that they knew about Amar’s presence in ISIS when the extremists leader Abu BakrAl Bhagdadi uploaded a video in which he declared Armar as the emir of the Ansar-ul-Tawhid.
Other ISIS members of Indian origin who have also been killed include Shaheem Tanki and Abu Abdullah alias Dr Shahnawaz Alam. Tanki was one of the four youth who had slipped out of Kalyan in Maharashtra and gone to fight alongside the ISIS.
