Tuesday 23rd February 2016, latest reports from Somalia indicate that a number of unidentified warplanes have been spotted hovering over an Al-Shabaab town of Jilib.
Corresponding reports from residents in the majorly Al-Shabaab controlled town reported that they saw low-level warplanes over the skyline on Tuesday afternoon.
The residents expressed deep concern over the warplanes fearing that bombardments may follow in the biggest Al-Shabaab stronghold in Somalia’s Southern and Middle Jubba.
Jilib is a town in Somalia, with an estimated population of approximately 45,000 people. The town is located on the main road from Mogadishu south to Kismayo and is the most populous town in the Middle Jubba Region.
No airstrikes have been reported so far.
