More than 20 Tanzanian youths including women have been intercepted by the Kenya Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) on their way to Somalia in past 3 months.
The rate at which Tanzanians are joining the terror group is alarming. In August 2015 alone approximately 10 Tanzanians were intercepted by the Kenya Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) on their way to Somalia alongside some Kenyan youths.
People aged between 2- and 40 are soft targets of radicalizers and dozens of such cohorts are now in police custody in Kenya awaiting to be prosecuted.
The Kenya Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) intercepted more than 20 people in Dadaab refugee camp as they tried to sneak into Somalia to join the terror group Al-Shabaab.
Tanzanians are using Kenyan routes to access Somalia after being radicalized and lured to join the terror group.
