Somali National Army backed by AMISOM last night (Sunday 30th August 2015) raided several Al Shabaab bases in different locations in the outskirts of Qansah-dheere town.
Qansah-dheere is a town that has been under the rule of the Al Shabaab militants, a strategic area from where militants used to plan attacks against the government forces and the allied AMISOM troops.
The evening raids left a huge blow to the militants killing at least 7 of their fighters. The government forces at the same time torched several military equipments belonging to the terror group.
Reports about the raid indicate a militant training base located between Habaal-barbaar and Qansah-dheere was reduced to rubbles by the joint forces.
In the past few days the Al Qaeda branch in Somalia has suffered significant blows from SNA and AMISON offensives. In the last week of August, at least 50 members of Harakat al Shabaab al Mujahideen (HSM) movement have been killed.
