Rwanda police have arrested a number of suspected terrorist with links to the recently gunned down Muslim Cleric Muhammad Mugemangango.
Mugemangango, who was a deputy Imam at Kimironko Mosque in Kigali, was gunned down after he attempted to escape police custody.

Following the recent gunning down of ISIS-linked Muslim cleric in Rwanda, the police have arrested a number of terrorist suspects that were closed linked to him.
Investigations and interrogations of the arrested suspects have confirmed that Mugemangango had ties to a regional terrorist organization cell operating in the region.
According to Rwanda police, overwhelming evidence of jihadi mobilization, teaching materials like books, CDs and social network messages were recovered in the process as investigations to nab the reminder of the cell are still underway.
Police have urged the public and especially the Muslim minority in Rwanda to be vigilant, denounce radicalization and report any peculiar teaching s or information from radicalized individuals.
Rwanda’s Grand Mufti has promised to thoroughly vet his clerics seeing as Mugemangango took advantage of his position as an inspector at the Rwanda Education Board to advance his ideologies to the youth.
