June 17, 2016, one person was killed and two others badly wounded after a fresh clan fight broke between two clan militiamen at locality near Jowhar.
The Thursday clan clashes erupted after armed tribesmen attacked militia at Borey; a rural area located about 10 kilometers west of Jowhar.
The renewed clashes between the two clans have risen in recent past months after killing several people in revenge.
Arguments over land use, boreholes and pasture have perennially contributed to fighting among Somali clans who are largely pastoralists.
Elders from clans, clerics and intellectuals are making efforts to ease the hostilities between the two clans and to avoid Al-Shabaab from taking advantage of the situation to cause more havoc.
Jowhar host the headquarters of the Middle Shabelle region.
