Event; Between May 6th and 7th 2015, Al-Shabaab operatives conducted an attack in Mogadishu targeting an intelligence agent working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
The CIA Agent Abdul-Hakim was killed by the Somali Islamist group Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen at Tawfiq area of the Yaqshiid district of the capital Mogadishu
Al-Shabaab did not provide information about exactly what time they carried out the killings.
Assessment
The killing of Abdul Hakim shows the Islamists intelligence collection and analysis capability is still growing.
The killing indicates the Amniyaat (intelligence unit) is able to infiltrate foreign services and coordinate urban terror operations targeting security and government targets.

A Top commander of the Islamist group Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen reported that the American spy agency CIA agent was killed by his men.
A Senior commander also the intelligence chief in the Shabaab al-Mujahideen Movement, was killed by a hell-fire missile fired from an aerial vehicle flying over the Somali airspace.
Shabaab blamed Abdul-Hakim on the killings of Abdulahi Sahal and other top leaders of the group through drone airstrikes carried out and coordinated by the United States from Djibouti.
