The al Qaeda affiliated terror organization has conducted its first attack in Somali’s region during the month of Ramadhan. According to government sources the militants were targeting Somali National Army base in Bardhere on Monday night.
The SNA troops managed to repulse the attack killing four al Shabaab terrorists, several injured and another was arrested. While the troops have said that the attack was major and aimed at overrunning the base, the troops were able to repulse the attack.
In recent weeks the SNA has continuously shown its military capabilities in repulsing would be deadly attacks by the al Shabaab terrorists. This is in line with the position of the troops that has affirmed its preparedness to take over Somalia’s security upon the withdrawal of AMISOM troops.
