Al Shabaab in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle region has claimed having planted and detonated an explosive on an armored vehicle of American Forces. The militants further claim that during the attack they destroyed the armored vehicle, killing and wounding those who were on board.
While military sources from the American side have not confirmed the allegations leveled by the al Shabaab, the terrorists said the attack occurred near the Kilo 50 area of Lower Shabelle province in southern Somalia.
The claim by the Jihadist has been viewed as retaliatory action against the American forces who have killed dozens of the fighters in the latest two airstrikes conducted in the month of June.
