Following the twin bombing in Mogadishu, the SNA and AMISOM have activated a city-wide operation in search of the al Shabaab cell responsible for the attack. This is after the militant’s group announced the identity of the two suicide bombers involved in the attack.
Somalia militant group Al Shabaab on Tuesday identified a second suicide bomber in the Friday twin bombings that killed at least 45 people mostly civilians. The suicide bomber is named Mohamed Abdirahman Abdullahi alias Anas.
He is claimed to have driven the explosive-laden vehicle that forced its way through the Sayyidka police checkpoint exploding near the Somali Presidential palace. The 21-year-old Abdullahi hails from South West State’s Bay and Bakool region.
SNA has reported the arrest of over a hundred operatives and sympathizers in Mogadishu and its immediate environs.
