13th October 2015, Credible OSINT report indicate that Somalia National Army Backed by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops have recorded yet another gain after battling and recapturing Gandershe village from the control of Al Shabaab militants.
While briefing the media, Ali Nur Mohamed, the Deputy Governor of Lower Shabelle region confirmed that the Tuesday morning battle was a success to SNA and allied AMISOM forces.
The joint forces continue to intensify on their operations following Al Shabaab attack on Leego and Janaale army bases in June and September.
According to Ali Nur,the military operations will continue driving militants out of the few remaining strongholds in the region.
The lower Shabelle Deputy Governor called on the locals to work closely with government security forces as well as AMISOM soldiers in providing them with any useful intelligence in order to defeat the Harakat al Shabaab al Mujahideen movement from the region and beyond.
