Government troops in Middle Shabelle in Somalia have engaged al Shabaab terrorist in a fierce gun battle that has left several militants dead.
Intelligence reports indicate that the fighting came after Al Shabaab attacked government forces in the Balad district of Middle Shabelle region. The fighting took place in the Gololey area, about 7 km north of the Balad district.
The al Shabaab has been continuously dealt heavy blows this week in different part of Somalia barely a week since AMISOM troops vowed to intensify the fight against militants who are seemingly in disarray evidence numerous high-profile defections.
