Peter Lawrence, a 71 year old man has been sentenced to jail for robbery.
Lawrence, an old man who is terminally ill is accused of robbing a bank.
He will serve 21 years in jail and will leave at the age of 90 years of age, the judge said.
At that age, Lawrence the bank robber will no longer be a threat to the public.
Peter Lawrence held and robbed a bank in San Diego from his wheelchair.
He made off with more than $2000 in the summer.
In his plea, he told the judge that he felt hopeless after being diagnosed with a terminal illness.
He also told the court that he was facing homelessness.
