More than 80 Taliban combatants have been killed and 40 others sustained critical injuries in the ongoing Afghan military operations, government officials said on Sunday.
In a press release issued by the Ministry of Defense, (MoD), Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against Taliban combatants in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Logar, Badghis, Ghor, Balkh, faryab, Baghlan, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.
The statement said that, more than 80 fighters including 19 Daesh fighters and two local commanders of Taliban were killed and 40 others injured.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the terrorists’ positions and hideouts by artilleries and air forces.
In the past 24 hours, 32 Taliban fighters were killed, 33 injured and one stronghold with some weapons destroyed in Ajristan, Deh Yak and Andar district of Ghazni.
Another 19 Daesh (ISIS) affiliates along with two commanders named QariIsrar and Mullah Asghar were killed in Deh Bala district of Nangarhar, while 10 combatants were killed and six others were wounded in Nadali district of Helmand. Separately, eight terror operatives linked to the Taliban were killed and one injured in Dai Chopan district of Zabul provinces.
