Kenya’s North Eastern regional coordinator Mohamud Saleh in collaboration with other security agents named three terror suspects believed to be behind the Friday night attack on a primary school in Wajir.
The three identified as Maalim Yusuf Abdullahi, Daud Ahmed Mohamed and Abdirashid Ibrahim Osman stormed Qarsa Primary School in Wajir at around 1 a.m. Friday and butchered four people.
Reports indicate that the primary school is located in Qarsa village near Konton border town and about 70 kilometers from Wajir town.
The victims were three non-locals teachers and the wife of one of them. Also it was reported that some other teachers sustained some injuries.
North Eastern regional coordinator Saleh noted that Abdullahi who hails from Bojigaras was the commander of the group.
He ordered local administrators in the area to produce the suspects and hand them over to the police.
Education Cabinet Secretary, Amina Mohamed warned that militant group Al-Shabaab was targeting schools as soft spots but noted the government was putting up security measures to prevent future attacks.
