Kenyan troops have been patrolling her border with Somalia near the town of Beled Hawo in Gedo region following failed talks between leaders from Mandera County and the Somalian counterparts.
Residents have also observed that Kenya has resumed the construction of the border wall set to separate her and Somalia in a bid to keep out al Shabaab terrorists from crossing from Somalia and launching attacks on Kenyan citizens.
Kenya’s decision to continue building the wall is a clear indication that it is committed o ensuring that the extremist elements of al Shabaab are kept out of the country. While the Jubbaland administration has opposed to the idea claiming that Kenya has encroached on Somalia’s territory the wall is still being constructed in line with Kenya’s commitment to protecting its citizenry.
