Kenyan and Ugandan authorities on early this week kicked off efforts to end cross-border attacks over cattle rustling.
Tension has been high along the Kenya-Uganda border following clashes recently witnessed between Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) and Kenya’s Turkana pastoralists allegedly inhabiting part of Uganda’s Kaabong district.
The cross-border delegation from Kenya led by a member of the Senate crossed to Kaabong district in an effort to diffuse the tension between the Ugandan army and Turkana pastoralists.
Turkana West divisional police commander David Nyabuto confirmed that a Kenyan delegation crossed to Uganda to meet the authorities in a bid to iron out the brewing tension along the border.
