Kenya’s President and Commander in Chief of Defence Forces on Thursday (28th July 2016) evening announced a mini reshuffle in the Kenya Defence Forces top military brass.
The Commander in Chief promotions and reshuffles:
- Major General Robert Kibochi to Lieutenant General and also appointed the new Kenya Army Commander.
- Lieutenant General Leonard Ngondi appointed National Defense College (NDC) Commander. He was the army commander now replaced by Lt. Gen Kibochi.
- Lieutenant General Johnson Ondiek appointed Force Commander United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS Commander).
- Major General Walter Koipaton appointed Deputy Army Commander.
- Major General George Owino appointed General Officer commanding Westcom and Commander Kenya Military Academy.
- Brigadier Adan Mulata was promoted to Major General and appointed Assistant Chief of Defense Forces in-charge of Operations, Training and Doctrine.
