Iraqi army continues to register successes against Daesh terrorist in Iraq’s second largest city of Mosul.
At least 37 Daesh terrorists have been killed in the intensified military operation aimed at retaking the oil rich city of Mosul, country’s defense ministry said on Friday.
The defense statement further said that the operation targeted Daesh positions in Mosul’s western region.
During the raid, 14 bomb-laden vehicles were also destroyed.
The military battle to recapture Mosul is on its 18th day. Iraqi army and federal police, Peshmerga forces, backed by the U.S.-led coalition are taking part in the campaign.
In mid-2014, Daesh captured key city of Mosul but in the recent months, Iraqi army, supported by local allies on the ground and the U.S.-led air coalition, have managed to retake much territory from the terrorists’ control.
