Gen. Paul Malong, South Sudan Army (SPLA) Chief of Staff has said that his troops is ready for any option viable to end war in the country.
General Malong said SPLA is ready for whichever option acceptable to bring the war to an end saying for the soldiers, peace is their priority and to defend the constitution, territorial integrity and to guard the country against any foreign aggression or any other threats, whether they from within or outside.
The army general was speaking at a meeting attended by the governor of Wau state Andrea Mayar Achor, transport minister, John Luk Jok and finance minister Stephen Dhieu Dau during a recent visit to Wau, one of South Sudan’s new states.
His sentiments came at a time UN has warned of a possible genocide if the war in the world’s youngest nation is not contained.
Security analysts have also warned of the same saying SPLA seems to be rebuilding its forces to counter any attack from the rebel forces saying in the event the war between the two rival forces continues, situation in South Sudan could worsen in the coming days.
