Libyan military source has reported that several members of the Islamic State also known as Daesh terrorist group surrendered late Tuesday to forces loyal to Libya’s unity government.
This follows several humiliation against the Islamist terrorists in recent military offensives aimed at retaking the northern city of Sirte.
Military report referenced by Anadolu News Agency, terrorists’ capitulation which is rare happened. Military source further suggested that the terrorists had surrendered because they had run out of weapons and ammunition.
In related development, a general hospital in Libya’s northwestern city Misurata — located about 240 kilometers from Sirte — in a statement said it had received bodies of five Libyan soldiers succumbed from injuries in the Sirte battle.
Libyan military in a statement also noted at least 30 Daesh terrorists in Sirte have been killed in the past two days while it had received several others giving themselves up.
The same sources went on to estimate that about50 Daesh terrorists still remain in the coastal city vowing to wipe them out in the ongoing offensive.
