The longest serving Director of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Noah Arap Too passed on at a Nairobi hospital after battling kidney related complications.
Too, who passed on on Wednesday was the longest serving CID boss since Kenya attained independence, having served for 15 years under Kanu regime as the director of CID until 1999.
Noah Arap Too took the position from Mr Ignatius Nderi, who also served for one decade, and was succeeded by Francis Sang, who served until 2003, when Joseph Kamau took over until 2006 when Karanja Gatiba succeeded him. Gatiba died in 2010 and Muhoro took over.
Criminal Investigations Department also changed its name to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and is currently headed by Ndegwa Muhoro.
Noah Arap Too is described as a brilliant, innovative and

dedicated officer, who unified the former Criminal Investigations Department unit.
