Five terror suspects have been arrested in Balad Hawo town which nears Kenyan Border with Somalia.
Police in Balad Hawo launched a manhunt following a car blast that left at least three Federal Government soldiers dead and others wounded on Tuesday 12, April 2016 afternoon.
According to (SNA) army colonel Nuh Osman Hajji, the five terror suspects were arrested during the searches for the architects of the Tuesday’s car bomb attack that targeted Balad Hawo district commissioner Yusuf Mohamed.
“We are questioning five people arrested in the security operation in connection with the bomb attack at the city’s police station,” Col Hajji said in an interview with local media journalist.
The speedy arrests comes a day after Balad Hawo district commissioner Yusuf Mohamed survived an assassination attempt believed to be the ills of Al-Shabaab when a bomb fitted into his car exploded, leaving three of his bodyguards wounded.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack but Al Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab is usually responsible for cowardly hit and run attacks as well as car bomb attacks targeting prominent government personnel as well as security forces in Somalia.
