The Colt Manufacturing Company was awarded a $41,924,594 firm-fixed-price foreign military sales contract to produce M4 and M4A1 carbines for 13 countries. The contract awards Colt the rights to manufacture the 5.56mm-chambered assault rifles for the thirteen countries.
The 13 countries include; Afghanistan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Federated States of Micronesia, Hungary, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Macedonia, Marshall Islands, Palau, St. Vincent and Grenadines and Tunisia. While the work location for each contract is dependent on each order the work is expected to be done by September 2024.
The M4 carbine has replaced most submachine guns and selected handguns in U.S. military service as it fires more effective rifle ammunition that offers superior stopping power and is better able to penetrate modern body armor.
Throughout the world today, Colt’s reliability, performance, and accuracy provide our Armed Forces the confidence required to accomplish any mission. Especially with the threat of terror organizations, the M4 and M4A1 carbines are reliable weapons for most militaries.
