The Shabaab al-Mujahideen Movement top leadership is opting purchasing vehicles (Toyota Landcruisers and Pajero’s) for arms and weaponry supplies, intelligence shows.
In recent pictures in Jiliib and Lower Shabelle regions, some top commanders and their fighters were seen driving in new vehicles.
In another photo, the top leaders including spokesperson Mohamed Rage and another lower Juba commander are seen using what looks like iPad to issue statements on social media.
It seems logistics and communications are becoming a challenge and the terror group is seeking to fill that gap.
The constrain is there, particulary in the South (Juba and Shabelle) regions of Somalia due to aeria bombardment by Kenya airforce jets.
