Somali militant group Al-Shabaab on Sunday identified the suicide bomber of a second explosion that occurred near the newly opened upmarket Doorbin Hotel.
Al-Shabaab released an audio featuring a militant identified as Abdullahi Sheikh Adan Sheikh Gure who was in one of the two vehicles that were detonated in the Friday suicide bombing.
In the audio Gure sarcastically sends a message to the President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
He also sends a message to the Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Mohamed Al-Zawahiri.
Gure hails from the Gedo region western Somalia, a region that has severally been used by the militant group as a launching pad for attacks.
At least 50 people and five militants reported killed in the twin bombings and gunfight that followed. Intelligence officials had already identified the suicide bomber and passed on the intelligence to the government forces and AMISOM troops manning sector 1.
