Somali security forces carried a joint security operation on Sunday night in response to the Friday’s twin bomb attack in Mogadishu that left at least 50 people killed.
The massive security sweep comprising of NISA, SNA Police and backed by AMISOM troops involved a house-to-house search in parts of the capital Mogadishu and arrested several terror suspects.
The joint military operation targeted villages in Heliwa district and other nearby areas believed to be a hotbed of Al-Shabaab secret operatives and their sympathizers.
According to Somali security source, those arrested will undergo a thorough interrogation.
