Authorities in Burkina Faso have arrested 8 people in connection with the twin attacks last wee at the French Embassy and army headquarters. Among the arrested were two serving military officers and one who had been terminated.
Eight soldiers were killed and 61 injured, as well as 24 civilians, in last week’s twin attacks.
The authorities also believe they have one of the masterminds of this double attack. It is attributed to a jihadist organization known as the Islamic and Muslim Support Group.
The suspects are in custody and being interrogated to find more information on the terror group that claimed responsibility for the attacks that rocked Burkinabe’s Capital towards the end of last week. Burkina Faso has been a breeding ground for various jihadist groups with some spilling over from neighboring Mali.
