Two children have been rescued from the al Shabaab in Bula Burde after they escaped a school manned by the militants. A team was dispatched to rescue the kids from an al Shabaab camp in Luqdhurwa village.
Bula Burde district commissioner, Osman Dahir Gure said that the children ran away from Al-Shabaab school located at Luqdhurwa village between Beledweyne and Bula Burde towns, immediately we got their information, we sent vehicles to transport.
The al Shabaab have kidnapped children in the region and indoctrinating then in schools and camps they man. The security forces in the area have said an operation to rescue over 100 children from the camp is underway.
The move comes just a month after Somali government rescued over 30 children from Al-Shabaab during an operation against Al-Shabaab by Somali forces.
