The U.S. forces conducted airstrikes in south-eastern Patkiya province killing or wounding at least 42 Taliban militants. The airstrikes were conducted in coordination with Afghan forces in a wave of intensified operations against the Taliban and other armed groups in Afghanistan.
Separately, The Afghan Special Forces destroyed large caches of weapons and Improvised Explosive Devices during an operation in Ghazni. The special forces recovered 20 IEDs, 2 Mortars, 1 RPG Warhead, 10 lbs Homemade Explosives, 4 Grenades, 250 ALP Uniforms, 5 acres of Marijuana, a large IED cache and a large Weapons cache.
