U.S. forces in joint operation with Somali Special Forces conducted three precision airstrikes in Somalia against Al-Shabaab.
The 2.15 a.m. operation carried out about260 kilometers south of capital Mogadishu left 6 Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab operatives killed.
The joint operation was conducted with the parameters of the authorities granted by President Donald Trump in March 2017 which allowed U.S. forces to conduct lethal action against Al-Shabaab with a geographically defined area in support of Somali National Army SNA).
U.S. forces will continue the onslaught against Al-Shabaab partnering AMISOM and SNA throughout Somalia, East Africa region and around the world until the threat is neutralized.
