30th December 2015, latest reports on the war against terror indicate that Daesh leader linked to the recent multiple Paris attacks was killed in US air Strikes.
According to US Defense Department the Daesh (ISIL/IS) terrorist had direct ties to the alleged mastermind of the Paris attacks Abdelhamid Abaaoud who was among 10 terrorists killed in Syria.
The terror leader identified as Sharaf al-Mouadan was a French national and reports indicate that he was killed in the coalition air strikes on December 24th, 2015.
According to Baghdad based US military Colonel Steve Warren told reporters that, Sharaf al-Mouadan was based in Syria and had direct link to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the Paris attacks cell leader.
Colonel Steve Warren also retaliated that US and coalition allies will continue to hunt ISIL leaders who are working to recruit, plan and inspire attacks against the United States of America and our allies,” he added.
Mouadan had been actively plotting further terrorist attacks against the West.
All 10 the ISIL leaders killed and named on Tuesday were targeted with airstrikes, mostly using unmanned drones, Warren said.
Mouadan, 26, was the son of Morocco-born parents and the last of eight children. He was born in Belgium but was raised in the suburbs of Paris.
US-led coalition airstrikes have been bombing purported ISIL positions in Iraq and Syria for more than a year.
