OSINT reports from Somalia media reports that unidentified warplanes have carried out air assaults on Al-Shabaab held area in southern Somalia targeting high value militant’s commanders.
The warplanes carried out bombardments on Maserey village which is located on the boundary between Lower Shabelle and Middle Shabelle regions
Some media have reported that US warplanes were conducting aerial campaigns in area targeting militant’s top commanders.
The raids comes barely a day after U.S. using drone struck Al-Shabaab bases near the militant-held town of Jilib in Middle Jubba region.
U.S. continues to collaborate with troops in Somalia in fighting Al-Shabaab. In 2014, U.S. drone strike killed Al-Shabaab top figure Ahmed Godane near Barawe, a coastal city in Lower Shabelle region.
