Russia is considering allowing US air-force to use its Ulyanovsk air base in its Afghanistan operations, intelligence and defense officials have confirmed.

If the deal goes through, US and NATO will set up a logistics facility for troops and cargo in Ulyanovsk air base lies on the Volga River.
It is the first time NATO has been allowed such a defense favor in Russian territory.
Sergey Lavrov , Russia’s foreign minister confirmed these talks besides fending off criticism that such an agreement would allow foreign troops to operate in Russia.
