Uganda’s President Museveni Urges S.Sudanese Leaders To Avoid Violence As Conflict Resolution Method

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has addressed the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) National Liberation Council Meeting where he appealed to its leaders to drop violence as a means of conflict resolution.

Museveni said that it is important to resolve political differences in a different way and reserving the excessive force for the enemies of national prosperity. Following the visit by Museveni, Kiir has since called upon his rival Riek Machar who is outside the country to return to start the peace and rebuilding the nation.

Kiir also promised changes to improve the economy, which he said was an important driver for peace efforts. “Our economy will surely improve. I have instructed the Minister of Finance to ensure that civil servants get their salaries on time.”
