
KAMPALA: A Uganda military court on Monday 18th July 2016 jailed six soldiers among them two junior officers aligned to the elite Special Forces Command.
The military court sentenced them to 15 years in prison for allegedly plotting to overthrow the government.
Other four suspects who worked for Gen David Sejusa, alias Tinyefuza in various capacities also got the same sentence.
On July 5, the court chaired by Lt Gen Andrew Gutti held that prosecution proved the charges of treachery and abetting commission of offence against the accused persons.
Treachery is a serious crime and carries great consequence to the security of Uganda.
The accused persons were convicted of two charges which attracts death as maximum sentence.
