The militants who included three senior Al Shabaab commanders and 11 other fighters were killed by the US drone strike on Saturday night in southern Somalia.
A US drone strike was targeting Shabaab mujahideen fighters who were taking one of their senior commander for a medical care at Baladul Amin village of Lower Shabelle region.
The drone strike killed the doctor together with the Al Shabaab terrorists near Balidogle airport close to Baladul Amin village of Lower Shabelle region.
The killing of three senior Al Shabaab commanders alongside 11 other fighters, is a huge blow to the Al Qaeda affiliated jihadist group and comes barely a week after US announced a hefty reward offer of up-to 27 million US dollars on any information leading to the killing or capturing of the senior-most Al Shabaab figures in Somalia.
