22nd November 2015, Al Shabaab militant group executed five Pro-ISIS officials in Lower Jubba.
The executed members included the ones who had pledged bay’ah to ISIL terrorist group.
Al Shabaab Amniyaat operatives have been hunting down it members who had pledged allegiance to ISIL.
The Al Qaeda affiliated branch in Somalia launched a campaign to hunt down and eliminate the spiritual leader believed to be recruiting the militants to join the Middle East based jihadist group, the Islamic State.
Sheikh Abdulkadir Mumin pledged bay’ah to the Islamic state together with a group of 20 others Al Shabaab fighters.
An estimated 50 Al Shabaab loyalist are believed to have shifted Al Shabaab camp to joining the Islamic State.
Amniyaat operatives have killed over 20 of these fighters in barely past two weeks.
Five pro-ISIL terror groups were also arrested and detained by Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen movement in Bu’ale, commercial city in the Middle Jubba region of Somalia.
The incident follows Al Shabaab’s threat to finish off those who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group.
There is possibility Al Shabaab militants are executing those commanders one after the other as warning to others of its fighters not to decamp the Al Shabaab faction.
The three of the slain officials were identified as Sheikh Hussein Abdi Gedi a former deputy of Al Shabaab in Middle Jubba region, Sheikh Abdirahman Sheikh Abdullahi and Sheikh Ja’far
Sheikh Gedi was a close confidante of Al Shabaab leader Ahmed Abu Ubaydah and led the militant’s operations in Kismayu.
