U.S. conducted airstrikes in support of the Somali National Security forces targeting the Al-Qaeda Al-Shabaab militants.
This air raid was carried after Al-Shabaab militants attacked Somali forces approximately 40 kilometers northeast of Kismayo, on October 1, 2018.
According to military intelligence report from Somalia, nine (9) Al-Shabaab militants were killed in the airstrike and one other militant was critically wounded. No civilians were killed or injured in this air raid.
U.S. forces continues to carry out air bombardments to protects its interests and citizens besides intensifying its counterterrorism operations to disable terrorist threats Somalia and the neighboring region.
