Even as Al-Shabaab scale-up attacks in Somalia prefectures, the group lost two key Khawarij ringleaders following a special operation carried out in the Dhursheen area, near Bakool, in Somalia’s Southwest state.
Corresponding local reports from Somalia indicate that the two Khawarij were ringleaders with the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab who have been pivotal in planning besides perpetuating the attacks in theater.
The two terrorist operatives identified as Ahmed Moragabay and Ali Garweyne.also have been responsible collection of illegal taxes, extorting money from civilians to finance the group’s terrorism agenda.
The neutralization of the two terrorists’ ringleaders comes as a welcome relief to locals who have for a long period of time suffered under their oppressive acts with security personnel promising to completely rid the area of the Khawarijs.

Also, the newly appointed Special Representative of the African Union Commission Chairperson (SRCC), Ambassador Mohammed El-Amine Souef arrived in Somalia to take up his duties as the Head of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
