Turkish war jets hit pounded on 12 outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) targets in the ongoing military operations in northern Iraq killing more than 20 militants.
According to a statement by the Turkish General Staff, 12 targets used by the militant group as shelters and weapons emplacements were completely destroyed in northern Iraq’s Gara, Metina, Sinath-Haftanin and Hakurk regions in air sorties carried out since May 17.
One Turkish soldier was martyred and another wounded during an operation against the PKK in southeastern Turkey, a security source confirmed on Tuesday.
Another soldier was killed in northern Iraq by the PKK on May 8, the army said.
