On Monday 13, June 2016, Turkish forces supported by coalition forces reportedly killed 5 Daesh terrorists (ISIS) in Northern Syria believed to be at an advanced stage to wage attacks.
According to a security source, Turkish army howitzers – known as Firtina (“storm” in Turkish) backed by US-led coalition forces struck at Daesh targets killing 5 fighters. The killed militants reportedly were readying to attack Turkey.
The strike hit targets of two building containing Katyusha rocket launchers and mortars, the sources added. Coalition forces also conducted three airstrikes on Daesh positions in Syria.
Turkey’s southeastern province of Kilis has faced a series of cross-border rocket attacks from Daesh in recent past months.
