Uganda police have confirmed a gunmen attack that left one Uganda People Defense Force (UPDF) soldier killed and two police offers injured on Sunday evening.
The Sunday incident happened when gunmen raided Gulu Central Police Station.
According to the police source, the heavy gunfire erupted to the heart of Gulu Municipality at about 9.00 pm local and lasted for 30 minutes.
Uganda Inspector General of Police, Gen Kayihura on Monday 13th June 2016 confirmed about Sunday raid saying one UPDF was killed and four others injured including a few civilians.
The criminals left behind six AK 47 rifles, 12 rounds of ammunition, a bow and arrows among other weapons.
Uganda is being faced by after election challenges with 30 military officers whom included an army commander being arrested for allegedly plotting a coup d’état in Uganda and assassination of President Yoweri Museveni.

Gen Kayihura despite the attacks, downplayed rumours on Social media assuring Ugandans that the country is stable.
