Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has announced that they have arrested an ISIS Somalia operative in Mogadishu. The Abnaa Ul-Calipha member is believed to be an influential member of ISIS in Mogadishu as the group has been expanding from its headquarters in Puntland to the south previously dominated by al Shabaab.
NISA said that the IS militant operative who was in charge of finance used to transfer money to other extremists in countries across the world, adding that the latest arrest would help dismantle the group financially.
Islamic State in Somalia has been conducting attacks, especially in Mogadishu a move that has led to speculation of the growing reach of the terror organization.
