Strategic Intelligence confirms the exit of Al-Shabaab senior commanders from the Port of Kismayo after we reported Kenyan troops movement towards the strategic port town.
Our intelligence confirms that KDF has moved within reach of Kismayo outskirts while the Kenya navy warships gradually make moves towards the seaport.
Three senior leaders including the Kismayo Al-Shabaab commander have ran away from Kismayo. Intelligence confirms that Sheikh Mukhtar Robow abu Mansur, Kismayo Al-Shabaab commander, Sheikh Hassan Yacqub and a former militant group spokes person, Ibrahim Afghan have left Kismayo leaving a militant group shaken and disorganized.
Our intelligence also confirms that the militants are short of funds and their morale is very low. The view is that Al-Shabaab in the Gedo and southern regions of Somalia are completely done.
They are now using hit and run techniques to ambush and even destroy vital installations such as water supply systems besides trying to ambush KDF/SNA troops.
Intelligence from Kismayo explains that the fall of Afmadow, 71 miles from Kismayo was very demoralizing and has led to a silent rebellion of Kismayo residents who are tired of the militia.
If this rebellion can be supported, there could be just a very little fight in Kismayo.
