Intelligence sources report plans by Al-Shabaab militants to display dead soldiers in Central Somalia after the tactical withdrawal of Ethiopian forces from El-Garas area of Central Somalia.
They also intend to display their tags and weaponry as part of their jihadi propagada.
Al-Shabaab militants staged attacks in the area targeting the Ethiopian soldiers who are serving under AMISOM.
There were high numbers of fatalities intelligence sources confirm.
The ambush was carried out by about 300 militants and targeted Ethiopian bases in Central Somalia.
Military personel tactically withdrew from the area to avoid fatalities though some were caught up in the crossfire.
Some military equipment may have been lost to the militants which is a significant setback.
The main terrorist commander in the region is man known as Hassan Ya’qub.
