Police have arrested one person in connection with the botched terrorist attack at the Mombasa Central Station on Sunday.
A suspected terrorist woman believed was an accomplice of the three women killed by police after knifing an officer at the police station.
The supect was housing the three women within Kibokoni estate in Mombasa.
A team of anti-terrorism police officers (ATPU) raided the woman’s house where they arrested her and recovered passports and several mobile phones.
On Sunday three women in Hijabs went to Mombasa Central police station pretending they wanted to report a crime.
According to witnesses at police station, one woman mumbling some words mentioning Somalia based Al-Shabaab took a knife and stabbed a police officer at the report desk.
Quickly police responded and neutralized the threat. Petrol bombs were also recovered from the women.
The arrested accomplice to undergo through interrogation by the ant-terror detectives for more leads.
