EVENT SUMMARY
In the past few days Kenya security agents have been on the trail of most wanted terror suspects planning attacks in Kenya.
Images of some the terror suspects have been published to enlighten on the public to remain vigil.
Tuesday 5th January 2015, a terror suspect identified as Mahmoud Salim Mohamed and goes with alias Gasere and who escaped Monday police dragnet in Majengo, Mombasa was captured and taken to Malindi CID headquarters in the evening.
According to Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa ,Mahmoud Salim Mohamed alias Gasere was among the criminals terror cell terrorizing public at the coast.
Police are pursuing other suspects who managed to escape from the safe-house that was raided by the police and are believed to be within tourist town of Malindi, Kilifi County in Coastal Kenya.
Regional police boss Francis Wanjohi said counter-terrorism operations will be intensified with main target being Ismael Shosi, who is believed to be operating in a terror cell in Majengo and Old Town areas.
During the raid, police officers recovered a G3 and M4 rifles, 345 bullets, 15 cellphones and a laptop. Latest development
In the latest developments, a senior Al-Shabaab terrorism activities logistician and arms courier Abdifatah Twahir Abdalla has been arrested in King’orani area in Mombasa city and Kenya’s CT-Ops JTF is further tracking down the terror network in the Republic of Kenya.
