AMISOM BRIEF
KDF contingent working under the banner of AMISOM in fighting Al Shabaab militancy recently donated assortment of educational materials to students of Ganane Primary and Secondary School in Kismayo.
In what is seen as an effort of reaching out to communities in Somalia, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) team led by Kismayo Sector Commander Lt. Colonel John Kipya, donated items that included books, pencils, pens, and chalks to the schools.
The troops were welcomed by the schools leadership including teachers and students who expressed gratitude to KDF generous gesture.
Lt Colonel Kipya on his part and on behalf of KDF troops in Somalia took time to thank people of Somalia for their collaboration in the war against terrorism. He also promised that the forces will work closely with Jubbaland administration in bringing security, peace and stability to the region. He also thanked the children for choosing education as key base in their life.
